On April 1st, Julian Peire joined AIDA as a PhD student, further strengthening our team working on the VIGILIA project on “AI for detecting and mitigating triggers of cognitive biases and heuristics in media content” 🧠, under the supervision of Tijl De Bie and Jefrey Lijffijt.
Previously, Julian worked for 1.5 years as a data scientist, where he applied natural language models to build business solutions. During this time, he also became a certified AI Compliance Officer and set up the ethical AI branch at his company.
Julian holds a Master’s degree in Business Engineering: Data Analytics from Ghent University (BE), bringing a strong quantitative and data-driven perspective, along with a keen eye for the ethical dimensions of AI, to the group’s research on cognitive biases in media.
