Yes, it’s exactly what you are thinking… The AIDA group has gotten even bigger, a lot bigger! 🚀
On October 1st we welcomed three new PhD students: Noêmie De Vlaminck, Filippos Vlahos and Maria-Louisa Wightman bringing the total size of the group to 22 researchers 🔬. At this stage, we are even starting to outgrow our office at Ghent University… 🏢 (hot desking, here we come).
As for our new colleagues, they bring fresh expertise in phychology, cognitive science and social sciences supporting and strengthening our current research focus. In particular, Noêmie holds a Master’s degree in Experimental and Theoretical Psychology from Ghent University, Filippos holds an MSc in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh and Maria-Louisa obtained her MSc in Computational Social Science from Linköping University in Sweden. All three will be part of the VIGILIA project on “AI for detecting and mitigating triggers of cognitive biases and heuristics in media content” under the supervision of Tijl De Bie and Jefrey Lijffijt (Tijl De Bie and Emilie Caspar in the case of Noêmie).
We are very excited to have them in the team and wish them the best of luck with their PhD research! 🤩
